Description

(I apologize that all this Exp is taking so long. 24 of 40 completed. Anyway, I love Sparks's personality and Dakota could definitely use some friends, so I did this one too. Here you go cookie-stalker )

A sudden thud had captured his attention; that was where it had started. Sparks had arrived at the scene just in time to watch a blue colored eevee get thrown into a tree from the force of an impressive looking take-down. That alone wouldn’t have been a reason to get involved, but the taunting that followed, began to gnaw at the bystander.

“Geez, it’s no wonder you sister flips out every time you disappear! You’d be killed in half a second out there!” A black colored eevee snickered.

The other eevee struggled to stand, limping as he attempted to move forward.

“I-I tried!” the other defended.

“Tch. You call that trying? That tackle was so weak that I thought you were using splash! I can’t believe I honestly wasted my time battling you.”

The other eevee’s face fell with each insult that was being lobbed at him. Tears eventually came to his eyes, which only proceeded to earn him more negative comments. The scene was almost enough to make Sparks truly angry, and without much of an afterthought, he stepped out to join the conversation. However, before he could even talk, the eevee stopped him.

“Run along pussy cat. Nothing to see here.”

A vexing grin was thrown towards the shinx, causing the small cub to plant his feet firmly on the ground and glower back. It took a lot to get under his skin, but the constant barrage of insults being slung at the greyish-blue eevee were beginning to grate on his usually calm nerves.

“What did you just say?”

“You heard me!  This is between me and this pathetic scaredy purrloin!”

Dakota sat on the far right of the antagonizing charcoal colored eevee, doing his best to drown out the insults.  As much as he didn’t like the idea of this visiting shinx helping him, he had to admit it would be nice for someone to put Trojan in his place.

“That might be, but you aren’t being very nice! Battles are supposed to be fun; training isn’t supposed to be like this.” Sparks stated confidently.

He sentiments were rewarded with a scoff and eye-roll.

“Well, then why don't you show me?” Trojan prodded.

The shinx knew he shouldn't; why should he have to prove anything? However, the braggart's insults had worn him down and he was ready to do just about anything to shut him up.

“If it’ll shut that bold mouth of yours up.”

Dakota looked on with apprehension as the shinx took an offensive position. Trojan, Ignoring the hostility in the small leonoid, mulled over his challenge. He needed a plan, something that the shinx wouldn't be able to succeed; something so daring that-. He had it!

“Fine then! On the count of three we will both use our best move to fight. Winner take all!”

Sparks steeled himself, nodding.

The countdown ended and Trojan lunged at Sparks with surprising speed, giving his opponent hardly anytime at all to react. The charcoal colored eevee’s fur seems to glow as a fiery aura surrounded him. Sparks recognized the powerful Z-move and countered with a protect just in time to avoid damage from the pokemon’s attack.

While still at close range, Trojan clamped down on Spark’s shoulder, throwing the pokemon. Sparks stayed down momentarily, recovering from the impact.

“Looks like you aren’t worth my time either! Not surprised though. No one is better than me. I hope your entire ranch isn’t full of losers like you. That’d be pretty sa—"

KERZAP!

Trojan was launched backwards as a thunderbolt struck him head on. Sparks’s fur bristled and growl caught itself somewhere in the back of his throat. He charged up his energy and prepared to fire another thunderbolt, when he caught the grimace on the face of the uniquely colored eevee. Albeit rude and pugnacious, he was just that. Sparks straightened up and resumed his dignified stance.

“You know what? I don't owe you anything.” the wise pokemon stated as Trojan clambered to his feet. “Your statements hold no weight and I am sorry I ever let you get to me!”

Trojan could only stare at the small shinx as it proudly began to walk away. Sparks had barely made it past the small grove of trees when the other eevee caught up to him. Although cautious, his nerves settled as the other eevee proceeded to do absolutely nothing, other than keep pace and walk silently beside him. As the two walked back towards the ranch in silence, Spark risked another glance at the silent bland blue-ish colored eevee.

“That was pretty cool.”

Sparks halted and looked at his travel companion, mystified as it finally spoke up.

“What you did back there. It was pretty cool.” He clarified.

Sparks gave a grin, happy to have some reaffirmation.

“My name’s Dakota and someday I hope to be as cool as you are!”
